Bill Kramer– Executive Director

Bill has been the RARO Executive Director since September 1998. He has over 32 years experience in the field of recreation, beginning as a seasonal coach/supervisor for the Harrisonburg Department of Parks and Recreation in 1972 and continuing to work there until graduating from Bridgewater College. Upon completion of his studies, he was hired full time at Harrisonburg where he served various capacities such as Center Supervisor and Athletic Supervisor. In 1985, he became the Assistant Director at the Augusta County Department of Parks and Recreation, where he served for 14 years. He was named Augusta County Employee of the Year in 1995 and has served as a past member of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Recreation and Park Society. He is married with two sons and resides in Rockbridge County.

Darrell Plogger– Senior Programs Coordinator

Darrell has been with RARO for 11 years. He is a graduate of Bridgewater College.  He began his career at RARO as an athletic assistant in 1993, working in various capacities. He was named Senior Programs Coordinator in October 1998 and oversees the Football, Boys Basketball, and Babe Ruth Baseball programs. In his spare time, Darrell also coaches basketball and has served as both Head Coach at Lylburn Downing Middle School, as Assistant Coach for the RCHS Varsity team as well as Head Coach for the RCHS JV team. He is married with two sons and lives in Lexington.

Mike Conner– Assistant Programs Coordinator

Mike has served in a full-time capacity at RARO since April 1999. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and has worked at RARO in a part-time capacity since 1996 before being hired full-time. He also served one year as Assistant Coach for the Rockbridge Middle School Boys Basketball team. He oversees the Soccer, Girls Basketball, Girls Softball, Mighty Mite, Tee Ball and Minor League Baseball programs. Mike is married with four children and he and his family reside in Lexington.

Beverly McGee– Secretary/Receptionist

"Bev" is the newest member of the RARO team, joining us as secretary/receptionist in the summer of 2005. She has reorganized the office, updated the filing system and completely redone the mass e-mail list in a short time, while adding a cheerful tone to the RARO office. She lives with her husband in Rockbridge County.
