Open Court Play:  Cost:$10 per month or $100 for the year
Come out and enjoy playing pickleball in this open court format. Participants that are registered with RARO can show up and play. There are 3 courts available and participants rotate through playing against each other. This is great physical activity and social time. We are offering open court play at 2 locations - Maury River Middle School and Rivermont School in Fairfield. When weather and availability allows we may host open court sessions outside at Rockbridge County High School tennis courts. You should have some previous playing knowledge and experience. RARO Open Court Pickleball House Rules

Participants should share in the setting up and taking down of the nets. The participants who set up the nets should get the first opportunity to play.

First Serve:
MRMS & Rivermont – Bleacher side   
RCHS Tennis Courts – Tree Side

Scoring:
Games to 9, win by 2
*Players can agree to play games to 11 or 15 if there is no one waiting to play
Points are scored only when serving

Court/Player Rotation:

7 or less players waiting to play = 2 on, 2 off

Players will stack paddles in 2s, and line them up
When a game finishes, the next 2 paddles go in to play
On the court
1^st games of the night: winning team stays and splits, losing team rotates off
After the 1^st game, players will rotate off the court after playing 2 games

8 or more players waiting to play = 4 on, 4 off
Players Waiting
Players waiting to play will make stacks of 4 paddles
When players rotate off the court, they will put their paddle in the winner stack (if they won the last game) or the loser stack (if they lost the last game)
The next group to go in will alternate between the winner/loser stacks
On the court: A group of 4 will play 1 game and then rotate off

8 or 12 players total– players have the option to play timed, 10 min, ladder style games
Winning team moves up towards the “top court” or stays on the “top court” and split
Losing team moves down towards the “bottom court” or stays on the “bottom court” and split

At any point, if you want to mix up who you are playing with, you are welcome to sit out a game, but you cannot move another person’s paddle in the order of players waiting.
